Long race. The winning time of one hour and 14 minutes is the tip off this wasn’t a green flag event.  The two strong teams of Jim Stirling and Steve Sullenger/Dominique MJim Stirling
500 Winnerontoya had quite a day.

Both teams received heavy damage from ill handling competing cars.  Jim Stirling’s team survived after long periods in the pits making repairs.

The winner had noticely improved stops from last year with the quickest at 20 seconds and a second stop at 27 seconds. Not bad for stops that have batteries with plugs! No Quick-Change cars are allowed to keep costs down.

I’d like to tell you how exciting a race it was, but one car lead it the whole way.  Even with Jim’s battle worn car, David Patten only got within 3 laps of taking the lead until his car became the next victim.  Steve and Dominique made a gallant try to come from over a hundred laps down to get on the podium, but there just wasn’t enough time.  With next month’s Nascar 500, maybe we’ll be treated to a race like last year.
