So you want to Race...

Sportsman “Spec”

This is where you start.   You may use any 10th Scale 2wd or 4wd car. It must weigh a minimum of 3 & 1/4 lbs. You must use the Kyosho 27 turn “Ion Storm” stock motor & 6 cell 1500 sport “Shark” Duratrax battery.  You may use any body & wing as long as it is painted.  We offer a Racer’s Package that consists of (1) motor and (3) batteries for $59.99.

 You will race for (5) minutes in all mains. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place A-Main drivers will win trophies.  All other main winners 1st through 3rd will win tool box plaques. After you win (2) A-Main events, you may at your option, consider transferring to a intermediate level II class to let new racers have a chance at winning.

Off-road “Spec” Trucks

This is another class for new drivers with Off-road trucks.  Trucks can either be 2wd or 4wd with (4) functioning A-arms and shocks. All trucks must have a painted truck type body with a 1” maximum rear spoiler. Only Truck bodies will be allowed; no VW Bug bodies.  Races are (5) minutes. You must use a Kyosho “Ion Storm” motor, Duratrax “Shark”1500 sport battery and 2.2 truck rubber tires. Drivers that have won at least (2) races or race in a intermediate class will have a (1) lap handicap.

Classic “Spec” Hot-Rods

This is the fun class. Great class for graduating Rookie drivers. You must use a 1959 or earlier hot rod body.  Wings and spoliers OK. You may use any 1/10th scale car, but must run a Kyosho “Ion Storm” 27 turn  motor and a (6) cell 1500 “Shark” sport battery. No other batteries are allowed.  Oval races are 50 laps long and road courses are 25 laps. Cars must weigh a minimum of 3 lbs.

Touring Car Sedans

 Any 2WD or 4WD “kit” Sedan Car is eligible.  You may use any stock or modified motor and (6) cell Battery.  Foam or Rubber tires. Road Courses only. Races are (5) minute heats and main.  3-1/4 lbs. weight limit.

Gas Cars

Nitro Cars with .12-15 engines.  Road courses only. (5) minute qualifiers with (15) minute main events.  Foam or rubber tires OK.  Serpent or Ofna type pan chassis on-road cars may carry lap handicaps if raced with sedans.

Duratrax Delphi “Indy IRL” Cars

This class will feature the new “Indy IRL” car from Duratrax.  You must race this car “Box Stock”. There can be no modifications except for your paint job.  You must use the 20T motor that comes in the kit and a Duratrax “Shark” 6 cell battery. You can not change gears or tires. (5) Minute heats and (25) lap road course and (50) lap oval mains.

Formula One

Any thing goes in this class!  You can race any 1/10th 2WD or 4WD
F-1 car. You can use any modified motor and (6) cell battery.  Foam or Rubber tires OK. No weight limit. You should be a good driver to handle this class. (5) minute heats and main event.

Micro RS4 1/18 Scale Cars

This is the hot new trend in RC cars.  1/18th scale cars that use normal size radio equipment.  2002 saw a pretty good field. You may use any stock or modified motor. You can use up to a (6) cell battery pack.
(5) Minute heats and main event. Should be fun!

12th Scale Open

These cars go back to 15 years ago in popularity.  Several new manufacturers have produced some pretty good cars. This is not an entry level class. As these cars are rocket ships; you had better have some degree of skill to keep them under control. You can run any motor and (6) cell combination. (5) minute heats with (8) minute mains.

OPTIONAL CLASSES:  If a minimum of (6) racers wish to race a class of their own rules, we will accommodate you.
